Lowell Sun 9-5-2012 Homeless man indicted on child-rape charges in Tewksbury incident By Lisa Redmond, lredmond@lowellsun.com WOBURN -- A 20-year-old homeless man has been indicted on attempted child-rape charges after he allegedly tried to sexually assault a drunken 12-year-old girl at the defunct Funland park in Tewksbury. A Middlesex grand jury on Friday indicted Jonathan Cameron on charges of assault to rape a child, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, resisting arrest, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (two counts). No arraignment date in Superior Court has been scheduled yet. Police state that when officers responded to Funland, they found four highly intoxicated people, including the 12-year-old, whose blood-alcohol level was .24, three times the legal limit of .08. The others at the gathering told police they saw the girl with her clothing off and Cameron, who was naked, laying on top of her, Goldman said. A witness took photos of the alleged assault and turned them over to police, she said. The girl was taken to an undisclosed hospital, and her parents were contacted, prosecutors said. Cameron was apparently living at the closed amusement park, at 1879 Main St. After Cameron was arrested, he was belligerent toward police, banging his head against the wall in his cell at the police station, Goldman said.
