Suspect charged with child enticement- Burlington MA
The Burlington Union News
Burlington MA-
The Burlington Police Department has been conducting an on-going investigation involving the alleged sexual enticement of a child. This investigation was initiated by Officer Robert Aloisi, Jr., the department’s cyber crime investigator, who posed on the Internet as a child under the age of 16. Officer Aloisi received assistance from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Cyber Protection Unit and this cooperative effort led to the issuance of two (2) search warrants. One search warrant was for a business located within Burlington, the second for a private residence in Brighton.
On August 21, 2012 at approximately 10:45am, the department executed the warrants simultaneously. As a result of the investigation John K. Mulhern, 24, of Brighton, MA was arrested and has been charged with:
Enticement of a Child Under 16 (1 ct.)
Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors (1 ct.)
Mulhern was brought to the Burlington Police Department where he was booked for the above charges. He was then transported to the Woburn District Court and arraigned. Upon arraignment, Mulhern’s bail was set at $1,000 cash. Further conditions are that he has no unsupervised contact with any child under 16; no work/school/volunteer work involving contact with children under 16; no use of internet for non-work related purposes; no possession of any electronic devices capable of internet access; and he must report in person to probation once per week.
Any questions related to this investigation should be directed to Detective Lieutenant Stephen O’Meara or the Officer in Charge at (781) 272-1212.
